Devlog #3 — Writing is almost done, now the scariest part

Hi everyone,

This past week, I’ve almost finished writing all the scenes for the next release.

Initially, I planned for the first in-game week to introduce all major characters. But after writing most of the scenes, I realized that would be too much — not in terms of volume, but in terms of pacing. Too many faces, not enough breathing room.

So now, some characters will be introduced later — in the second in-game week, meaning in release 0.3 or even 0.4.

As for the final day of the first week (Sunday), I’m reserving it for one important event. It’s big, emotional, and will probably need a separate release of its own.

1. A few words about structure

Not every encounter with a character will be “mandatory.” Some characters you may never meet if you choose different locations. Certain scenes will only appear at specific times of day. And some events will only happen if you've already seen something else.

You won’t be able to see everything in a single playthrough.

And to me, that feels fair.

Just like in real life — you decide where to go, who to talk to, and every choice comes with a cost.

2. Quests and scenes

Each scene in this project is more than just a bit of dialogue or a simple task.

I approach them as small narrative episodes — with goals, emotions, choices, and consequences. Some are short and optional, others are branching and tied to your earlier decisions.

Most of the writing for 0.2 is now complete. Just a bit more — and I’ll move on to visuals and final scripting.

And honestly? That’s the hardest part for me.

I love writing — scenes, dialogues, emotional paths — it’s what makes me breathe.

But when I open Python code or Ren’Py script blocks… I definitely need a moment to hide under the table.

Aaaand... This is exactly the part I’m starting to work on now.

3. Support

If you’ve been following the project — thank you so much.

And if you’d like to support me, you can:

  •  rate the game
  • add it to a collection
  •  or follow my profile to stay updated

These small actions really help — they give me a boost and encourage me to keep going.

Wishing you calm days and thoughtful choices.

The next version is getting close!
