Devlog #5 — Two weeks to meet, a lifetime to decide
Hey everyone!
This week, I’ve been working on mechanics and character introduction quests.
My goal is to make the first two weeks of the game mostly about meeting people and making first impressions — without forcing any major decisions right away.
Well… mostly. You'll still need to choose your job by the end of Week 1.
That choice will have a serious impact on the story — and on who you can or can’t build a relationship with.
But isn’t that how life works? End up in the wrong job — and poof, that cute guy over there? Forget it. Too few intersections. If any.
That said, the main storyline — the murder investigations and the search for your missing friend — won't depend on your workplace. Those threads stay intact, no matter what.
But that doesn’t mean nothing’s happening.
Life moves on, things are already shifting around Marina — even if she doesn’t notice it right away. Events are unfolding. Some of them might not make sense — until it’s too late.
I’m also thinking about adding different gameplay modes.
Not everyone enjoys wandering around town looking for trouble (or clues). Sometimes it’s just... boring. So I’m considering an optional hint system — small markers to show where something interesting might be waiting. Still just an idea for now.
Same goes for relationship progress indicators. Some players might find them helpful, especially if they want to pursue a specific route. Others might find them immersion-breaking. So maybe I'll give you the choice to toggle them on or off.
If you have suggestions — I’m all ears! I’d love to know what you think.
