Devlog #1 — The Secrets of the Town: A story I’ve always wanted to tell
This is a story I’ve wanted to tell for a long time — and now it’s finally taking shape as The Secrets of the Town.
It started as a book idea. Then I tried making it into a text-based quest. But eventually, I realized: this story can only be told as a visual novel — not just text, not just art, not just narrative, but all of it together, including your personal choices.
☘ What this story means to me ☘
For me, it’s a story about friendship, courage, and adventure. Love, of cause. But I truly hope that each player will find something personal in it — something only they will feel.
🛠 Development so far 🛠
I started working on the game three months ago and set the release date from day one: 📅 June 16th — because that’s when the story begins.
That’s the day Marina arrives in the town where it all starts. Of course… I didn’t manage to finish everything I originally planned 😅 Let’s just say my ambition was a little too big for real-world time.
But I believe the most important thing is to make the first step. The rest will come easier.
✸ What to expect in the first release ✸
The current version includes two in-game days. It’s just the beginning — a soft intro into the world and its mystery — but those days are complete, and they set the tone for everything that comes next.
