Devlog #7 — Dialogues, Mini-Game, and Plans for September

Hello everyone!

I’m back with another small devlog to share how things are going

To be honest, I’m still not used to being called a developer. Who, me? I feel like I just happened to be passing by 😅.

When I got invited to join a team, it was incredibly pleasant and exciting. Honestly, I’m still walking around happy about it. And I would gladly say yes… but I just can’t abandon my own game.

I’ve always wanted to be part of the visual novel world. But here’s the paradox: if you don’t have any work to show, no one will invite you. And once you start making your own game — you can’t just drop it. That’s the dilemma I’ve found myself in.

Now, back to the actual game:

1. What’s been done recently

  • Implemented a full dialogue system with characters. They can now appear in different locations depending on the time of day and their own activities. Later on, you’ll even be able to follow them around 👀.

  • Adding new characters and locations. Many people think it’s easy to “negotiate” with image generators, but sometimes it feels like it would be simpler to just learn to draw.

  • Started my first mini-game! The player will need to connect dots into a pattern. The core mechanic already works — now it just needs to be integrated into the story.

2. What’s next

  • Finish writing the quests for the first week.

  • Add more sprites and emotions.

  • Complete the interactive elements (for example, the mirror is almost ready).

  • And of course — mechanics, mechanics, and more mechanics. They’re the most invisible part for the player, but also the most time-consuming, and the entire game rests on them.

My goal is to finish the next release in early September — fingers crossed I can make it!

I can’t wait to show you the continuation of the story! 💜
